Magnetic drums

Ipcentras / Magnetic drums

Magnetic drums are separation devices particularly suitable for continuous operation in demanding conditions. They should be mounted at the discharge end of conveyors or vibrating feeders. Magnets are placed in an internal circuit around a ferric support, protected by an outer layer of stainless steel. This protection, which can vary in thickness, provides physical strength to the devices, making them ideal for separating large-sized particles.

Different magnetic strength of ferrite or neodymium magnets, which will be used in the production of the magnetic drum, are carefully selected after a thorough examination of the sorted product. The inner part of the drum, where the magnets are installed, occupies approximately 65% of the total drum circumference and remains static. The outer part rotates attracting ferrous particles towards it and allowing them to fall into a nearby collection container.

Magnetic drums are manufactured in various dimensions, both in diameter and length. The construction of the device is fully adapted to the existing system or made according to the requirements of a new project. The drive for the magnetic drum will be selected based on the weight of the device and can optionally be equipped with a frequency converter.
